Sunday Service - with Evangelist Tshepo
Brethren, your genuine willingness reveals the scope and tenacity of your belief and your believing brings about possession. Moreover, a genuine willingness produced by faith prompts God to bless you. However, your genuine willingness must be motivated by the promises of God therefore, you cannot have that willingness in the absence of faith and you cannot have faith in the absence of God’s word as the very Word carries promises which ignites faith. It is also important to note that faith is ignited by the coming of the Word but the very Word must have arrived in man’s heart in orders to ignite faith, consequently fulfilling God’s promises in one’s life, (the promise of healing, deliverance, breakthrough or any other kind of blessing from God Almighty). As such, a man/woman of faith commands (possess) a healthy prayer life because the only way to express faith to God is through communication and that very communication is through prayer. One of the lessons Jesus taught the disciples was to live and maintain a healthy prayer life, giving them a scenario on the parable of a persistent widow, showing them that nothing speaks faith than prayer.
A life of prayer is but the initial step for the atmosphere of your life to be filled with the presence of God. This creates an atmosphere that is charged with the blessings of God because time spent in prayer is time spent with Him. In addition, there is no how you can be active in your relationship with God without being active in your prayer life because prayer is but the character of those who have a relationship with God – It is the identity of a genuine Christian! Take note: to Christians who maintain a prayer life, prayer is not a means of solving problems but a lifestyle and a means of communication as they do not see themselves living outside God. Even with the disciples, Jesus had to emphasize to them, the importance of prayer because He knew they were going to struggle in His absence if they do not pray – a sign that man’s survival is in God through prayer. The scripture says: “…𝐽𝑒𝑠𝑢𝑠 𝑤𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑑𝑖𝑠𝑐𝑖𝑝𝑙𝑒𝑠 𝑡𝑜 𝑎 𝑝𝑙𝑎𝑐𝑒 𝑐𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑒𝑑 𝐺𝑒𝑡ℎ𝑠𝑒𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑒, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑎𝑖𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑚, ‘𝑆𝑖𝑡 ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑤ℎ𝑖𝑙𝑒 𝐼 𝑔𝑜 𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑝𝑟𝑎𝑦. Brethren, faith in a man’s heart depends on the availability of God’s word in the very heart. Therefore, if you want to possess faith in your heart, you must first possess God’s word which carries His promises. It is also important to note that some see the word of God as information that describes events which took place in the past whereas to some, the very Word carries surety of God’s promises. Therefore, the manner at which you perceive the word of God matters; once you look at it as God’s promises, your confidence towards Him will be unearthed - Where there are promises there is an element of trust and where there is trust, confidence is born. For instance, in Genesis 12:2-4, God gave Abram an assignment accompanied with promises in order to ignite his faith. The Lord said to Abram: “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all people on earth will be blessed through you.” So Abram went, as the Lord had told him… [Genesis 12:1-4].
